Tap Dance
Beginning Tap
Suggested for 2nd and 3rd grade students
Students will develop their coordination and rhythm through this introduction to Broadway style tap dancing. As the year progresses, they will add a variety of fundamental steps to their repertoire and increase their speed and accuracy. We will combine what we learn into fun choreography to be performed at the yearend recital.
Intermediate Tap
Suggested for 3rd to 5th grade students
Although students do not need prior tap experience to join this class, dance experience is highly recommended. It will move along faster than the beginning class. As students learn new combinations, they will increase their speed and accuracy and once they have a repertoire of steps, they will have the chance to improvise, developing their musicianship. We will then prepare to dazzle the audience at the yearend recital.
Beginning/Intermediate Tap
Suggested for 4th to 6th grade students
Students with tap experience will develop their coordination and rhythm as they explore both Broadway and Rhythm style tap. As students learn new combinations, they will increase their speed and accuracy and once they have a repertoire of steps, they will have the chance to improvise, developing their musicianship. Students will have the opportunity to share their accomplishments at our year end recital.
